The Kampala International University Law Journal (KIULJ) is the official publication of the School of Law, Kampala International University, Kampala, Uganda. It is a peer-reviewed, biannual Journal providing distinctive and insightful analysis of legal concepts, operation of legal institutions and the relationship between law and other concepts. The Journal offers a useful reference material to legal practitioners, national and international organizations, non-governmental organizations and the academia, while also providing a multipurpose policy guide for the government.
The Editorial Board of KIULJ invites, from interested contributors, well-researched papers/articles, case reviews/notes, statute and book reviews in any area of the law for publication in each edition.
 
All contributors are to note and strictly comply with the following guidelines:
  1. All manuscripts must be original i.e. must not have been published or submitted for publication in any other Journal.
  2. The manuscripts submitted for publication must be written in English Language (British English) and typed double-spaced on A4 size paper, using Microsoft Office Word, Times New Roman style and in 12 font (except footnotes which should be in 10 font).
  3. All references must be footnoted. For the avoidance of any doubt, in-text referencing and endnotes are not acceptable.
  4. The KIULJ adopts the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA). Contributors are therefore advised to comply strictly with this Reference Guide failing which their manuscripts will not be processed for publication. OSCOLA is now in its 4th edition and can be accessed online via www.law.ox.ac.uk/sites/files/oxlaw/oscola. 
  5. Papers/articles should not be more than 6000 words while case reviews or other reviews should not exceed 4000 words.
  6. All papers must contain an abstract of between 150 and 250 words. The abstract must be italicized, typed single-spaced and must not be indented. It must incorporate all the basic elements of a good abstract i.e. introduction, objective(s), methodology, summary of findings, conclusion and recommendation(s).
  7. Each manuscript must have a title page and a cover page. The title page is the first page of the main paper. It should contain only the title of the paper, the abstract and introduction, excluding the name and personal details of the author. The cover page, which should be sent simultaneously with the main paper, should contain the author’s personal details such as name, titles, institutional affiliations, qualifications, email addresses and telephone numbers. The cover page should also contain the title of the paper.
  8. Each manuscript must have a title page. The title page is the first page of the main paper. It should contain only the title of the paper, the abstract and author’s personal details that is, name, institutional affiliations, email addresses and telephone numbers.
  9. All manuscripts should be submitted to these email addresses [email protected]  or  [email protected]
  10. All manuscripts should reach the above email addresses on or before the date assigned for each Author. Note that the deadline is sacrosanct; it is only the manuscripts that are submitted within the stipulated time that will be considered for review.
